Morgan Freeman converts his Mississippi ranch into a giant sanctuary for wild bees

Morgan Freeman has played so many roles during his long Hollywood career it's difficult to keep track, but his newest role may prove to be his most important. The actor has turned his 124-acre Mississippi ranch into a sanctuary for wild bees, in an effort to help support population growth for the little pollinators.

In my opinion, a good initiative and it is good to see that someone is doing something on a larger scale, like Morgan Freeman on his farm.

If only.......

I had the means, I would do the same, and live out a childhood dream - as a kid I wanted to create a sanctuary for our wildlife, our birds, hare, foxes, etc. I always did bring home injured animals and abandoned youngsters.

In my mind I already know how it would be, what I wanted with it and why, I always did and so wish that I had the opportunity, to implement it. And when I die, it will be a sadness in the heart, never to have had that opportunity, just the grief of my life, not ever been able to do such a small thing that was so important, not least to myself, who hate sitting helplessly in a corner with my hands in the lap and do nothing. I so wish that I could do more than just a a few flowers on my little balcony, but if nothing else, I do what I have the opportunity to do, with the few funds available to me.

But there was also almost only shattered dreams in my life, I was going to be a veterinarian and I was to joine greenpeace, and go do something about all that was wrong in my eyes - but I got chronically ill, very early in life and pretty much lost all opportunities and not least most of my dreams.

Come to think of it, my balcony garden, in a smaller scale, still contains the essence of my childhood dream, I lost that day, all those years ago, when parts of me did die, in that traffic accident, that founded my illness and shaped life, but I do know it is here I finish my circle, here I still feel who I was, this I who I am and always was.
